Who are we?

We are Tom, Tess, Harry and Sophie and our family has farmed here for over 40 years as tenants of the Ernest Cook Trust.

What do we Do?

We farm by the principles of "regenerative agriculture" - Soil conservation, reduced artificial inputs, livestock integration.

The crops we grow include wheat, barley, linseed and beans. We don't cultivate which helps protect our soil from erosion and keeps the worms and critters that live there safe.

Our beef cattle spend most of the year grazing our permanent pasture and wetlands  and then come inside for winter where they can keep warm and dry.

We keep purebred Herdwick sheep which are native to the Lake district so they're made of strong stuff! The meat is of superior flavour and quality (and we love their smiley faces).
